The Red Carpet Event

Last week my husband and I got to do something extra special. We were able to attend a red carpet event for our fave hockey team, the Washington Capitals. We LOVE hockey in our house. So, in celebration of the upcoming release of THE GIRL WITH HEARTS on November 3rd, I decided to share a few photos and talk about Hockey nicknames. 

Not going to lie- one of my favorite parts of hockey are the fun nicknames. John and I watched the movie Mystery Alaska a while back and in that movie one of the players is nicknamed Skank Martin. Still to this day I laugh thinking about it. They say to make a hockey nickname, you take your last name and add a /y/, /ie/ or /er/. However, sometime the guys get a little more inventive than that.

So, here are some of the photos from the event, along with the player's nickname. (Not all players are listed. My job was to get authographs and John's job was to take pics. It was a little crazy, especially when Ovi made his appearance, so we missed a few).
