Writing Update: THE GIRL WITH DIAMONDS (Midtown Brotherhood Book#2)

I'm busy finishing up pre-edits this weekend. By pre-edits I mean a list of general things my publisher gives the authors to go through and look for before we actually begin the "actual" editing. For me this mostly consisted of fact checking, and realizing that I'd spelled a new character's name incorrectly. May I add that the find and replace feature in Microsoft word is a life saver!

Starting book #2 in the Midtown Brotherhood series was hard for me. I spent so long working on the first book trying to get a publishing contract that I felt tied to Leila and Henrik. They were my couple. Then I suddenly had to set them in the background and focus on someone new. I thought it would be hard. I thought I would never love another couple as much as I did Leila and Henrik.

I was wrong.

Book#2 focuses on Henrik's best friend and Leila's brother Austin. We meet Austin in Book#1 and he plays a very crucial role in the story. However, this time it was Austin's time to really shine. I think we find out why Austin and Henrik are such good friends. They compliment each other perfectly. They are quite the dynamic duo. Of course, after all the hardship that Austin caused Henrik in his pursuit of Leila in Book#1 it was only fair that Henrik get to exact a bit of revenge in Book#2.

"Let's just say that Henrik spent a lot of time playing scrabble with my sister because of me." - Austin THE GIRL WITH DIAMONDS.

The bromance between those two is such an absolute joy to write. I couldn't forget Sam and Drew. Don't worry. Don't worry...my favorite annoying little brother and know-it-all best friend make lots of appearances through out Book#2. Not to mention we get to know another very important character a little better. Callen Copley. You'll get to know Callen alot better in Book#3 *wink* *wink*

 Have I mentioned Magnolia yet?

I adore Magnolia.

A southern girl that's a bit flashy, but witty enough to keep a smart ass like Austin on his toes. I think we all have a little Magnolia inside of us.

"I wasn't a party girl in college. I spent my friday nights with Jane Austen and Dr. McDreamy." - Magnolia THE GIRL WITH DIAMONDS

I mean who hasn't spent a friday night watching Grey's re-runs?

Okay, that's it for now.  (sorry I really need to finish my pre-edits) I hope you enjoyed this update and are excited about the release of THE GIRL WITH DIAMONDS as I am. If you don't know what in the world I'm talking about then go get Book#1 right now. Read it. Come back and be excited with me then.

Keep checking back for exciting announcments including the official book blurb and the official cover reveal.
